How Do You Think About Fun?
I have been thinking about fun recently. I work a lot and wanted to make sure that I was having enough fun.
I love my work, am an engaged parent, am in loving relationships, and have a healthy appetite for personal growth - so I am busy. Every day for me is a combination race against time and a commitment to being fully present. So I wondered how I could fit in more fun.
Though I enjoy all of the things that I described, I realized that I wouldn’t call them fun. Fun - for me - is being so wrapped up that you no longer clock the time, joyful laughs and smiles, carelessness (in a good way), and a feeling of lightness.
When I got clear on how fun makes me feel it became easier to realize when I feel that way: At the beach! Doing art. Engaged in a great conversation. Dancing.
So as it turns colder and darker outside, I am committed increasing the warmth and light inside by adding more of these things into my life and increasing my dose of fun.
