Meet Lauren Richardson, she is the founder of Radiance and Romance.

What messages have you had to confront (internally or externally) to pursue your personal & professional path? 

“Almost one year ago I quit my full-time job to pursue my dream of starting my own jewelry line. I studied jewelry and sculpture in college, but like many graduates, I caved under the pressure to play it safe and got myself “a real job." I convinced myself that starting my own jewelry line would have to wait until I had achieved “success” or saved enough money. The truth? I was shrinking in the shadow of my fear and self-doubt. It wasn’t until my emotional wellbeing was in jeopardy working these miserable jobs that I was able to face my inner critic.  When I first quit my job, people wished me congratulations. I was so surprised because I thought my decision would be judged. Maybe it was because I had questioned it so much myself. The amount of encouragement I received made me feel more confident in my decision. While I still experience anxiety, I know I did it for me and it was right.  Starting a business is risky, but it’s also risky to deny your dreams. To anyone who has taken or is thinking about taking a big leap, I wish you congratulations! The best decision you could make in life is putting yourself first and following the path that feeds your soul.”
