Challenging Convention and Thriving Through Authenticity
My hair is very really blue.
In October I put up a post reflecting on the fact that I have always wanted to dye my hair, but never thought that I could be seen as creative and credible at the same time. I didn’t know if I could be respected as a strategist, coach, and speaker if I was pink, purple, or blue.
I sat with that thought for two months and came to the conclusion that if I am going to strategize, coach, and speak about crafting unique paths, finding success through authenticity, and creating a new type of world for our children then I needed to demonstrate that with my whole being...including my hair.
So I did it. And honestly, I think I liked it better before. But I am SO glad that I did it. I don’t recognize myself, and I think that is the point. To not recognize the old me who met expectations and lean into the new me who challenges convention and thrives through authenticity.
